Want to contribute an image?

Thank you for your interest in submitting a photo of a breast/chest condition relating to breastfeeding, lactation and/or expressing.

We can only accept photos that are of you personally and where neither you nor your baby can be identified. You must be aged 18 or over to submit a photo. We will ask you for some information about the condition when you submit, for example what were the symptoms and who diagnosed it. If you have photos over time – for example of a condition that improves – we would welcome more than one picture. As we are aiming to create a database with a range of pictures in different skin colours – particularly those with Black and Brown skin – we will not be able to use all the photos submitted. We still really appreciate you taking the time to submit, even if we don’t end up using your photo.

If you haven’t yet taken your photo, please see the guidance for how to take the best image. We are more likely to use your photo if the whole breast is visible, at the centre of the image and taken with good lighting.

You will have the option of giving us your contact details and we may contact you to ask for more details about your symptoms at the time of the condition. You do not have to give us your contact details. We do not provide any diagnostic or healthcare service and there will be no ongoing communication about your condition.

• We will ask you to confirm that you accept the following conditions if you choose to submit:
• Your photo may be used in an open access library of images, along with a short description of any symptoms and sometimes some notes from the editorial team
• Although the purpose of the library is to educate parents, clinicians and lactation supporters, you accept that we cannot control who looks at the library or what they do with the images. If we are made aware of misuse of the photos we will take appropriate action to inform the responsible party and request removal.
• Your photo will be stored securely and used only for health educational purposes.
• You can withdraw consent for the use of your photo at any time and it will be removed from the image library. However, images can be saved once they are publicly available so we cannot guarantee that your photo will not remain in the public domain even after you have withdrawn consent

We encourage you to only submit your photos if you are completely comfortable with being involved. Your health care or treatment and your breastfeeding/infant feeding support will not be affected by a decision to participate or not to participate.
